2. Kabritu Stoba – a very common stew dish in this region that is made up of goat meat soaked in lime juice, butter, garlic, onions, tomatoes, vinegar, jalapenos, beef stock, and paprika. This stew pairs well with funchi, a cornmeal side dish that is similar to polenta.

3. Pastechi – this is the Caribbean version of an empanada. It is a pastry dough that is usually filled with beef, fish, chicken, or ham. The meat of choice is mixed with raisins, nutmeg, or cumin and then the pastry is fried.
